Learn & Experience How Body-Centered Coaching Can Enhance Client Decision-Making

Come, actively participate in learning about and literally experiencing/practicing body-centered coaching!  With many of us living in an increasingly disembodied world . . . at the computer, on the mobile device, and too often do not realize that our ‘whole beings’ – including our bodies are communicating with us!  We frequently sit endless hours at our work spaces, staring at screens and disconnected from ALL of our senses in a culture that values learning through our Head Center almost exclusively.

Too often clients concentrate on what the ‘mind thinks’ and the valuable information that is available from the body and the spirit are not considered.  For a decision to be right, a client must take into account all the information available to them . . . including the body with the natural intelligence which sometimes offers (or confirms) a different perspective than the logic of the mind.

Yes – the power of the mind and increasing our knowledge of neuroscience is important – however this same science also is even more powerful when the body position, movement, and ‘knowing’ is linked to the powerful ICF coaching process. It is through our bodies that we ‘move’ to take action and engage with others.  The presentation will highlight ‘Body-Centered decision-making coaching strategies’ will be including:  ‘Stepping over the Line’ a powerful strategy when client(s) are making difficult decisions; ‘also Acting as if’ when trying to make a choice for powerful change.  Other powerful Body-centered coaching strategies that increase awareness of the power of communication of the WHOLE being will be examined in strategies such as: ‘Embracing the signal’ and ‘Embodying the metaphor’.  For example, many of our metaphors are body metaphors such as: “ I am behind” . . . behind what/who? (powerful questions – standing and exploring who/what clients) or ‘I want to put that behind me’.  Other examples include such embodied metaphors as: “I want to look forward; “I see what you mean.”

Audience participation will bring ‘personal embodied metaphors to life in order to experience the power of embodied metaphors.  Registrants will have the opportunity to explore how learn about and become certified as Body-Centered Coaches.

Participants will earn 1 Core Competency and .5 Resource Development CCEU's for attending.
