Biography

New Zealander turned Wisconsinite. Reinventor across three continents and industries, most recently leaving academia after 19 years to train as an ICF-certified coach.

I've coached 1.5k+ leaders on their communications across 9k sessions and 45 countries, mostly with expatriate leaders and culturally confused Americans operating in ambiguous Fortune 100/500 companies as my niche audience. Most land their dream jobs, build their venture, get on stage, or write their book, all with newfound confidence after coaching with me for a while.

I'm a former reporter for the Economist, FT, Guardian, NPR Milwaukee, Engineering News-Record, and Wired. Former professor of biz comm & journalism, most recently with UNC Chapel Hill. I've interviewed the Property Brothers, Hector Garcia, and the Dalai Lama. And I bring those interviewing skills and that cognitive agility to my clients.

Berkeley graduate from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Proud graduate of the UW Madison Professional Coaching Certificate program (#Gamechangers). Proud to certify as the 81st globally certified Positive Intelligence coach with Shirzad Chamine as my mentor. Former UN Foundation Press Fellow. Podcaster. Substack writer and memoirist.

I'm an artist, serial dreamer, and overly creative thinker whose ideas intensify vs dull with age. I'm also a proud wife of a Louisianian who pulled himself away from swamp country to pursue his dreams. And I'm a Harvard Mum whose immigrant dreams went beyond what felt possible, and who meets her 30th year in the U.S. May 18 of 2026. Still swooning over what feels possible in this very huge land. (That's a perspective that stays with you forever when you grow up in a land with more sheep than people.)
