Biography
Bud Matthews is a 38-year sales, marketing, and senior management executive within the consumer products industry. Matthews' started his career with Hormel Foods. He held various sales, marketing, and management roles during his progressive 17-year career. In senior management, his last 21 years were with Smithfield Foods, most recently as Senior Vice President, before ending his career in December of 2018.
In the spring of 2019, Matthews' started Ascend Performance, LLC. Ascend Performance specializes in talent selection, development, and mobility with companies operating within the consumer products industry. Ascend's Solution Assessments are comprehensive online tools intended to assist in selecting, onboarding, and developing individuals for many different positions within the enterprise.
In May 2020, Matthews graduated from the University of Wisconsin's 9-month Certified Professional Coach Program. He recently completed ACC accreditation from the ICF. Matthews uses his CPC skills in working with aspiring companies and individuals who seek the benefits of coaching.
